I read over 800 million people go hungry at night, what does that exactly mean

a little hungry? malnutritioned? how much do they eat? eg do they have 1 meal a day whereas we have 3

I think of it like this:

Every single night, whether the same people or different people, 800 million people starve in one way or another.

There really is no right or wrong asnwer to this tricky question, because for every person, there is a different story..

Some people really go foodless for a period of time before the fate of God appears of their eyes, and sometimes people [even in our own country] become malnutritioned from their guardians or just decide not to eat. Most of the time, this happens to adults and children in different, less fortunate countries. Every single hungry person are victims because in my eyes, one day without food, one less day on this Earth.

Think of this:

On a holiday, there are people out there that either starve to death or only consume of one meal of scraps off the streets, while we enjoy our feast of turkey, potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce, and whatever other toppings you enjoy. Most of the time our eyes enjoy more than our stomachs can handle, therefore we usually throw away whatever scraps were left on our plates.. Those starving children, adults, and seniors could easily survive one more day with the leftovers we do away with. Think about a homeless or very hungry person on the next holiday. Let your stomachs handle as much as they can, and when there are still scraps on your plates, share them with someone else at the table, or place them in a plastic container for next time.
