And if it is true would the meat still be good to eat or would it be harmful to humans and animals?

  1. Its true and has been well documented and yes, oddly enough the ruskies sampled some of the meat and it was edible.

  2. There are some places in Siberia and the Isle of Lachon where tusks of mammoths are virtually found in sizable quantities so much so that the local residents there have been doing a lucrative business there. It is believed that the ice age that occurred at the time these mammoths were freely found in  Siberia in large numbers, came suddenly and engulfed the entire Siberia. Since they were frozen all of a sudden nature did not give time to many of them to rot away .  For years people went on feeding the meat of these extremely well preserved animals to dogs and other animals. Many were preserved so well that men even ate the meat.  No one had any problems. So it was neither harmful to the animals nor the human kind.  Even today when there are storms dead mammoths are uncovered when the ice, snow and sand are blown away and amazingly they are extremely well preserved. Best lucks.
