Everyone I have met who has gone there has never heard of it. Was I reading fiction?

Many places in South America today guinea pigs are served for special meals.They are also cooked and sold in the markets and are available in restaurants.Many homes I have been in  have a cage in the kitchen especially for them.Once you get over the thought of what you're eating they're actually are pretty tasty.
