I read this in the newspaper on a couple opinions are welcomed?

ok so i live in tn and our paper realesd an article about a 18 year old girl and like a 60 or 70 somethin year old man like whats ur opinion i think its a bit gross

Yes, it's gross. If I were her mother I'd swat her on the behind and send her to her room to think about what she just did.

I'm a 53 year-old guy. While I find teenage girls physically attractive, I find it very difficult to imagine being in a relationship with someone that young. The difference in life-experience would just be far too great.

Having said that, I wouldn't be critical of a couple composed of an 18 year-old girl and a 70 year-old guy so long as it was clear that neither was using the other and there wasn't an unhealthy power-dynamic going on. Each of us should be free to live the life we choose with whoever we want to share it with.

If the relationship is healthy in itself i really don't mind of the guys age. UI mean "healthy" when they in the relationship without any secret motives. Like the the guy is rich and the girl is not and just spending money, etc. etc.

Whatever works for them works, but I really wonder about the mental state of an 18 year old who wants to be with an old man and a 60 year old who wants to be with a little girl.  Seems unhealthy just by the nature of the major difference in their life circumstances.

It is normal here in the Philippines and other Asian Country's. The woman here don't go for appearances or age.They go for a man that is kind, generous and funny . The ratio of girls verses men is 7 woman to 1 man. The worst that I have seen is a 23 year old girl, with a 74 year old man and they can't keep there hands off each other. He is from Australia and she is from the Philippines. But it is no big thing here as it is there in the States.

I agree with the first response - it seems a bit strange, though not completely dismissable. People are attracted to people relatively close to their own ages because they have things in common - maturity level, life experience, goals/aspirations, hobbies, culture, etc. Obviously some people find (or fake) love that transcends age - sometimes it's a difference of 5 years, 10 years, or 20 years... and sometimes it's d**n near a lifetime. That is just too weird for me. But that's just me.
