Question:

I realize we are guilty of global warming but how do you explain this?

If global warming is caused by humans how do you explain the fact that over the last century the average temperature rise on Mars has mirrored our own. I do not know what kind of cars Martians drive but apparently they are no better than ours. Also, how much of the carbon is actually going into the atmosphere vs how much is being absorbed by plant life as part of the CHON (carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen) a plant needs to grow.

  1. ride a bike... it removes the guilt...

  2. global martian warming is caused by the exhaust from the rovers we sent their.

    just kidding.

i don't think we are the cause of global warming, but it is are responsibility to try and fix it, we don't want to end up like the dinosaurs.

  3. We made the gasses that caused the warming. If we stopped the gas production, nature will get rid of the gas that causes these effects.

  4. To answer your first question: Nobody's really sure, and I'll freely admit that.

To answer your second question: atmospheric carbon dioxide levels are rising.  CHON cycle is a good thing to know about, but it's not keeping up with human-related activities.

  5. Please read the IPCC report. It is clear to the world's smartest minds that humans are causing global warming (not natural cycles no matter how much that lie seems to circulate). There is no relation to us and Mars or Venus, these are new myths to avoid doing anything. Don't listen to the ignorant morons on YA, read the report, read any real scientific journals, read Scientific American and see the truth. These people would tell you that evolution isn't real either, or that smoking is really good for you.

  6. You're pointing out one of the problems being ignored by the global warming hysteria industry.  It isn't just Mars that is being affected by global warming - Venus is, too.

The fact is, the oceans are the biggest source of atmospheric CO2, dwarfing that of volcanoes, which dwarfs that of industrial man, but the statistics being used by Mr. Dole were collected atop a volcano surrounded by ocean.

It's not clear that we're even experiencing global warming. Temperature statistics gathered by the NASA weather satellites says there hasn't been even a degree change in global temperature since the satellites went up. What *has* happened is that the currents in the ocean have shifted. Parts of the earth are getting warmer, and parts are getting colder.

It's happened before. A thousand years ago, there was a lot of farming going on in Greenland. It was abandoned a couple of centuries later as the climate got colder. They used to grow grapes in England, too, but they can't do that today.

And ice cores from Antarctica show that CO2 levels were more than 100 times as high in the past - during ice ages.

It's probably not a good idea to run an open-ended experiment on shoving CO2 into the atmosphere. For instance, we should be building clean nuclear power plants to generate electricity, rather than running plants that depend on fossil fuels. But some of the proposals for dealing with this non-crisis aren't very sound. They make as much sense as trying to cope with unemployment by switching from name-brand salt and pepper to generic salt and pepper. You need substantive change, not symbolic change.

  7. We, at best, are only minimally responsible for any climate change.  This is an outright lie perpetrated by the likes of Gore and his cronies.  It appears that this is a ruse to scare people into allowing more governmental controls.

Actually, increased Carbon Dioxide content of the air increases plant growth and carbon sequestration.  Some of the goals I have seen for Carbon Dioxide content of the atmosphere are ridiculously low, and would be insufficient to maintain crop production at present levels.

  8. i dnt think anyone can give u a definite answer to part 1 but how do u get this statistics on mars? if the report is reliable den surely u can get some supporting explanations from there?

more imptly i dnt think we need to concern ourselves with what is happening on mars. surely at the rate fossil fuels is burning and forests are being destroyed more and more carbon dioxide is being produced faster than plants can use them. how much of global warming is caused by humans is subjective but definitely we homo sapians are speeding up the rate of global warming so if we are to survive we need to do something now and fast be4 martians come in search of our fossils and put them in their museums

  9. We may have contributed to global warming a tiny bit, but it's not a sufficient enough claim to say it's all of our fault. It is a natural phenomenon that occurs every I don't know 40,000 years or so. Yes an ice age and we are about due for one actually. The earth likes to reset itself you could say. Global warming might be an important issue right now, but there is nothing we can do to make it stop, or go faster, slow down, etc.....You could ask Al Gore apparently if you have any future questions about it. I know I get all of my science knowledge and backround from him. (haha yeah right give me a break). Michael Moore is another biased deutchbag. Sorry I got on a roll here.

  10. My guess is global warming is a bunch of c**p, and if it isnt, there isnt anything we can do about it. Once the atmosphere starts running away, theres no reversing it from what I understand.

So if global warming is started, then go ahead and drive your leer jet to work in the morning.
