I live in California and i REALLY WANT to go to collage in Alaska because I feel they have the best opportunities for me. Alaska also holds a great foreign exchange program so i was hoping to spent one year in Alaska then go to Oxford University in England but my mom and dad don't approve and i really think its best for me but i also dont want to make my Parents mad at me

  1. Most schools, even ones in California, have exchange programs.  Does the fact that you'd be paying more as an out-of-state student have anything to do with the decision?

BTW, I hope you are using spellcheck and a human proofreader for your applications.  There are at least twelve errors in your first sentence.  0.o

  2. You should first take a family trip to Alaska to see if you can bear the conditions, and maybe visit the college/university in Alaska and England.

All parents want the best for their children- and want to be near them to protect them, so naturally they don't want you that far- but if it is the best, just keep your position and they will be convinced.

  3. most of the time parent dont approve because children dont show any responsibility that they can take care of themselves. So the parents are just worried. Second, is financial. In college, even if you get a loan or financial aid, part time job, you still wont  pay up all the cost of living and school  tuition. Parents only can help you. Do more research about that place before you can make up your decision. Your parents just worried, so you need to have some prove evidence that you can be on your own. Even if that at 18 family still worried and its just something they cant stop. Alaska tend to be the coldest states, so just go there and check it out before you make up your decison

  4. I would say go. If that is where you will have the most and the best opportunities than I would strongly encourage you to pursuit it! You don’t want to go to a school that you don’t like and that isn’t best fitting to you!!! It is your life and you are the one that your college is going to affect and you are the person who has to go the the college so go where you want!
