  1. Beer I'm in the same boat....let's just watch this head to head battle and try and get good and wasted....If that happens we all win.

Billy Bong Thorton & Wesley Pipes will be watching it at my place and grape juice and Grey Goose = Goose Juice for the cup.

EDIT....Pens fan make me say...."GO WINGS"!!!!

  2. You can't go wrong with the talent and experience if the most dominating team in the league for quite some time now.  The longest running playoff team now, past 16 or 17 straight years now in all of pro sports.  They always find a way to be at the top of there game.  Look at the talent they have brought in.  The Wings probably (do) have the best scouts in sports.  Everyone thought Detroit was in a downward spiral after Yzerman retired and Shannahan left for the rotten apple etc.  The wings haven't lost there stride one bit (pardon the pun).  they might not have won that many cups, but at least they aren't the Buffalo Bills either.  Ho many teams ever can continue to put up so many 100+ point seasons?  Who in the league can consistently entertain us they way they do?  They are so consistent and play as one unit, which so many teams have ahard time doing. there is not one "Prima-Donna" in the organization either. I have been blessed to grow up watching the best team in years, for years, and ill continue to as well.

    LET'S GO RED WINGS!!!

I can see all the "haters" out there.  I know, it's tough when your teams can't keep up with the best, and they crush your hopes every year, it most get old looking in from the outside, but it's the truth.  the Wing had there fair share of problems, but they've solved all that.

  3. Yuengling is excellent... but isn't it from eastern PA?  No reason to root for the pens just because of yuengling!

    "America's Oldest Brewery..."

I think Michigan's state animal is Michael Moore, while Pennsylvania has Tara Lapinski... it's a toss-up.

EDIT:  Joe... Apparently Jeff Goldblum is from Pittsburgh... I think we can all agree on him?

EDIT again:  wikipedia is awesome... apparently I am from the same hometown as John Basedow, Howie Schwab (of 'stump the schwab' fame), Body by Jake, Dee Snider, Jonathan Demme, and Bob Shepard!

  4. The Penguins  because the state bird is the ruffed grouse.  The state mammal is the white tailed deer.  (and we all know how cool those things look with there tails up!!!)  The insects of the state are the firefly and ladybug!!!  The state dog is the great dane.  the GREAT dane. The fish is the Brook Trout.   The team is fun to watch you should go for them!!!

  5. Michigan has the Wolverine (U of M) is the best too.  As for beer, hmmm I would say anything Canadian but that's not a choice for the Finals.

Go for the Wings.  Everyone says "youth" beats "experience" but I totally disagree.

    GO WINGS!!!!

  6. Just be neutral and chug a beer after every goal is scored.

  7. If you want drugs, guns and a 25% graduation rate, come to Detroit! =D

  8. Uhhh, the Pens "exciting to watch", the Wings aren't exactly boring either.  Both teams play the type of game that is very exciting and up beat.

Yeah, also root for a team just because they are young... that is dumb.

Watch Game 1 and decide which team you enjoy more.  They both are very exciting, but also have a somewhat unique style.  Both have a good mix of speed and physical play.  Both have great skill players and role players.

  9. Just go for The Pens they are young and exciting to watch

  10. Pennsylvania-Yuengling.Best beer around.

Greg-Good call on Moore but how about Joan Jett for Pa?She would seem like a fun bird to hang out with.....in '85.

Greg again-So is Andy Warhol and Dennis Miller.Christina Aguilera?Very impressive.

  11. Well in Michigan we have the WHITE tailed deer for state animal and RED breasted Robin for the bird. Most Michiganders like Canadian beers........

  12. Is Germany a state?  LMAO!  I like some Portland, some Seattle, some California, and some Wisconsin beers...kinda bias on the last one.   One of my favorite beers right now is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which is made in California, I think.  At hockey games I drink Miller Lite, or go straight for the hard stuff...depends on if I feel like being a cheap date, or an expensive drunk one.

  13. Detroit, but only because the movie Action Jackson takes place there

  14. You gotta go with the Pens.  Because they have 3 players that played at Shattuck-St. Mary's.  One I had the chance to coach, One I had the chance to party with and One I had the chance to play with!!!

So do it for me!!!! I will get a chance to raise and party with the cup!!!!
