I really like this girl and i think she likes me but she has a bf?

I have known this girl for the better part of 5 years. I really like her and I think she likes me too. The only problem is that she has a bf. I think she just started dating him over the summer. I'm not sure what to do, is it too late to tell her how i feel? Have we known each other too long and she thinks of us as just friends?

You have three choices.  You can be sure to preserve the friendship by not saying anything to her, and always being friends.  However, the cons to this are that you may truly regret not saying anything and never've given it a shot.  So then your second choice is to say something to her soon, while she is still in a relationship.  Possible statements are "I know that you have a boyfriend, but I like you as more than a friend.  I wanted to tell you that just in case you also had feelings for me."  She may break up with him and date you, or she may be very uninterested and not want to hang out anymore.  This brings us to the third option.  Biding your time until she breaks up with this other guy, and then telling her.  "I know that you just broke up with your boyfriend, but I wanted you to know that I like you as more than a friend.  I'm here for you if all you need is a friend, but I can also offer more of a commitment."  This is risky but probably the best option.  She may get really attached to this other guy and be with him for a long time which is obviously bad.  However, it offers the best chance of remaining friends if she doesn't want to date.

It's never too late to tell someone how you feel.  It might be too late for people to take action on those feelings.

Why do people fail to communicate?  It is the easiest thing on the planet.

Open your mouth, and tell her how you feel.  If she does like you, and has liked you, she might break it off with this new boyfriend in favor of you.  She might laugh and tell you that she doesn't see you as anything other than a brother... which will answer your question as to whether or not she likes you.

Communicating with her is the only way you are going to find out how she feels about you.  Communicating with her is the only way you are going to let her know how you feel.

It depends on if she's flirting or not. It could be that she just feels comfortable enough to be close to you in a friendly manner. Don't try to break her boyfriend and her up by any means, even if she likes you she might like her boyfriend more. It anything you should probably be just a really good friend.

You and she are older and wiser by 5 years.  Eventhough she has a boy friend, and you and she are friends, she still has a very special place in her heart and life for you.  You can tell her how you feel when you are comfortable about doing so.  Right now, you probably feel rather awkward even bringing up the subject.  But know, having a boyfriend is not like a marriage.  She is not married.  You are not married, so the game is open.  Who knows if she has gotten a boyfriend to make you step up to the plate?  Girls do that, you know.  --- Toni D.

I don't think so because  if you think that she met like you then go for it  tell how you feel even do you known her 5 years yes it's big risk but she need to know how you feel about her and it met hurt you never she met like you ....:) good luck!!!!!!

i'v had this same problem just be subtle and caring and if/when something happens to her bf you have a shot
