I really need Mac help?

I just got this imac from my friend and when I tried to install my printer with my printer disc, is wont read and I know its mac compatible. It just spits it back out and says nothing. It does this with all other cd's too. IT EVEN DOES IT WITH THE DISCS IT CAME WITH!!!

Sounds like your friend gave you an iMac with a busted optical drive.

As for the printer, it's ALWAYS best to just download the printer drivers from the manufacturer. No point in installing outdated drivers.

Which iMac is it> G3 (big box, funky colours), G4 (round white base, screen on a metal swing arm), G5 (white all-in one screen on a thin stand) or Intel (like the G5, or aluminum with thin stand).

(describe what it looks like if you don't know)

Any help I can give depends on which machine & which OS it's running (under the Apple menu > about this Mac)

Either your putting them in the wrong way or the cd reader is busted.
