I recently re-arranged my bedroom. About 3 days later I noticed These little(Close to 1/4 or 1/2 of an inch) black wormish-larvae crawling around. I am pretty sure they are moth larvae from what I have read, but i could be wrong. I suspect they are crawling in from my newly installed AC. I would really like help controlling this problem and getting rid of these pests. Thanks in Advanced.

  1. Starting off - Ortho Home site has a section for identifying all the insects.  What you saw  are called millipedes.  Whenever the weather is hot but there is not a lot of moisture or rain, they are searching for water.  They come out at night and migrate to cool, dark, damp areas such as garages or basements.  I have millions of them right now in my garage below my house.  The thing to use is Ortho Home Defense Max.  It is like something an exterminator would use.  You spray around the perimeter of your house (a 2 foot area).  When it dries, pets are fine to be around it.  What it does is when insects cross the plane of the sprayed area, they die and that ortho is said to be good for up to one year.  I sprayed last Thursday.  Gross!!!   But I have millions of millipedes dead in piles in front of my garage doors.  Better outside than inside.  When they die they curl up in a small little circle and become very crunchy under foot!  Gross but I would rather see them dead outside.  With this Ortho, you can spray perimeters inside the house and the same applies.  As soon as the area sprayed is dry, it is safe for your pets.  Good Luck.  Thank God you only saw one so far because let me tell you, they multiply like rabbits.
