So I came down stairs with my two lovebirds and one of them tried flying to my brother (he really likes him) but my brother was spinning around and the lovie hit his hand and was thrown into the hardwood floor's step. She couldn't get up so I rushed over there picked her up, talked to her calmly, and started petting her gently. So far she can stand on her own but she keeps her eyes closed for the most part. I am really worried about her. I don't have the funds to take her to a vet until my dad gets home tonight. Will she be alright? I have a brooder with a heating pad all set up. Should I leave her in there and check on her? What about eating? Please help. It has been an hours since she hit the stairs...

  1. feed her soft foods, so she won't have to use her beak to crack open seeds, and let her rest alot. put her in the brooder and keep an eye on her. she needs peace and quiet.. don't make really loud nosies around her. and bring her the the vet when you have a chance and have the money...

    good luck..

and be careful when your around the birds because they are small and delicate and can be damaged and killed easily..

  2. sounds like something inside her is broken - bones or internal organs

a vet may not be much help

put her in a quite place and make her confortable she will either get better or die

  3. Ok, this happened with my beloved quaker. DO NOT TOUCH IT. IT IS HURTING. Let him or her get some rest. Take it to the cage and let it rest. Let them drink clean water. And yes, put some soft food. Pet it, talk to it, play music for it. And pray for it. It will be alright

  4. You should take her to the vet.  Call your dad and have him call the vet.  He can give the vet a credit card # to take care of the costs.  You can also give the vet a call and just ask what you can do until your dad gets home.  The vet will tell you what to do and if you even will need to take him in.

  5. I think she is merely in shock just keep her close to some water. She could have gotten some internal injuries and the dog and cat vet won't do c**p for her other then charge you a huge bill for your visit. Play it by ear and just keep her as comfortable as you can right now.
