  1. I had the same problem but not only did i have 2 cats i have 2 dogs as well. Well if you buy the right cage cats can't ever get to the hamsters. Just tell ur mom all the things you said to us. when you do try to really sit down with ur parents and show them ur serious. Do research and print out some things to show them. If you are really serious about it then ur parents will take you more seriously. Good luck.

  2. tell her you will keep it in ur room. keep it on a high dresser. keep the door closed

  3. i also want a hamster and i have 2 cats. one of my cats can't hunt for his life, and the other one is a good hunter, but he's old and lazy, so if it proves too difficult for him, he's not gonna do it. when we got our fish, we put our cats right in front of the tank and they watched for a minute and then noticed they were behind glass. we also got 4 baby ducks and when we took them out on the yard, my cats would look at them like they wanted to hunt them, and we would just yell at them and chase them away and know they've learned to leave them alone. tell you mom what you said here, and explain that you will make sure your cats can't get it. she may say no, and make sure you don't ask her every second or she'll get annoyed. show her that you can take care of it and maybe make a promise with her that if you do something like dishes for a couple weeks that you can get one. good luck!

  4. At first you had me convinced and then as I read your info and saw you using the word "dumb...t", I realized your mother is looking at your immaturity in being able to make a wise decision about getting this type of pet when you have 2 cats that would love to have a snack at their first opportunity.  I'd be afraid you'd leave the door open and the cats would sneak in and the rest would be history.  I'd have to agree with your mom at this point.  Perhaps you could work on showing her you can be a very mature, responsible person (Language like that just shows the immaturity of a person I'm afraid...  and if you don't believe me, do some internet research on cussing and fowl language...) and maybe some time in the future you can convince her.

  5. Well for starters, how about trying the following:

#1 Cleaning your room and making sure that it STAYS clean and tidy.

#2 Making sure that your homework is done and handed in on time.

#3 Sweep the floors in the living room and kitchen without your parents asking you to.

#4 Wash and/or dry the dishes.

#5 Do not fight and argue with your sisters & brothers.

#6 Eat what you are given and don't whine or make "yuck" faces when given it.

#7 Don't talk rudly to adults

#8 Always share with other kids.

#9 Go to bed when you are told to.

#10 Research the pet and breed you want to be 100% certain that it is the right one for you.

    # 11 Ask them about getting this new pet in a nice way and don't beg and whine about it.

I'm 100% sure that if you give those a try, they will see that you are serious about wanting to add a this pet to your life and family. :)

  6. if your cats are anything like mine, that thing will be gone in two seconds.

tell her everything you just told the internet comunity. keep the cats away from where  you're going to keep the cage, and don't let it roll around in it's hamersterball near them. =)
