u should burn a lot of calories a day

    but make sure you know

BEFOREHAND that you'll be hungry from all the burnt calories

plan your meals ahead of time so you dont end up binging because you're so hungry

    keep up the exericise

    it's not a diet

it's a better way of life

    by the way

weight and body fat can depend on muscle mass too

since muscle weighs more than fat (because it's denser)

  2. you will lose a couple of pounds if u do the above mentioned sports & exercises. As for ur weight ur normal by all means cos of ur height. if u want more info on ur weight & fat % calculation then visit the below site.

  3. This is a great question and one that has been the center of debate for years! First off, remember that the scale only tells you your entire body weight. It does not tell you the composition of that weight. And it is body composition that really matters.

Muscle does not weigh more than fat, any more than lead weighs more than feathers. A pound is a pound is a pound. Where the misunderstanding often comes in is that muscle is much more dense than fat, so that, by volume, it seems to weigh more. That is, a pound of muscle occupies less space than a pound of fat. In addition, because a pound of muscle burns more fat than a pound of fat, even at rest, by increasing your lean muscle tissue mass, you're helping your body burn more calories.

But back to your question. If you only have a small amount of weight to lose, then you may feel like the weight training is not helping you move down on the scale. In fact, the number may even go up, but you will look thinner. This is due to an increase in lean body mass (muscle, bone, blood volume) and a decrease in body fat. In other words, even if the scale doesn't change much, you will probably see a difference in how your clothes fit.

On the other hand, if you have a lot of weight to lose, you will also experience an increase in lean body mass and loss of body fat. But the results on the scale will probably be more dramatic.

  4. First off, you are slightly overweight, considering you are 13 and 156 pounds at 5 9. You need to lose at least 26-36 lbs. Swimming is one of the best exercise for losing weight. As you know by now, Michael Phelps eats 12,000 calories a day, with food consisting mostly of carbohydrates, and yet he is still in shape. 12,000 calories a day is 3 times more than an average person eats every day. This data is a good indication swimming is good for losing weight. You can also work on playing sports. Sports is not only fun, but it does not feel like as if you are exercising or training. It feels and is recreational. Make short term goals instead of long term goals, so that way you can be proud of yourself, and be more consistent in completing it step by step. In no time, you should be in shape.

  5. Hi, Crystal,

At 5 ft. 9 in and 156 lbs, you are definitely NOT overweight. Exercising is good for you and I would encourage you to continue to do the activies you mention. It is absolutely impossible to tell how much weight you would lose because I don't have any information about your metabolism, diet, bone structure or other physical facts. Please don't try to lose weight you are PERFECT right where you are. At 13, you can still expect to grow taller and may even experience a growth spurt. Are your parents tall?
