okay, so i just got my braces yesterday. and the orthodontist said the reason for my braces was because my mouth was too crowed with teeth! and so they have to pull out 2 of my bottom teeth on wednesday! i want to know how they're going to do it, and if its going to hurt:[ and im not sure if its my baby teeth or not,i dont think it is. but theres gnna be 2 spaces of gaps[ from my pulled out teeth] i want to know if they're going to grow, or is the braces gnna push them together making my mouth less crowded and straight?

PLEASE HELPP!!!!!!!!

thank you:)

  1. It sounds worse than it will be.  They numb your gums with a shot or a few shots of novicaine and after your numb they pull out the teeth possibly put in a few stitches that will disolve.  It's over very fast and dosn't hurt that bad.  Just close your eyes because seeing the needle and tools are the worst part!  I'm sure that your teeth will turn out beautiful.  You even get Wednesday off school so that's a plus!

  2. I had to have 4 teeth pulled, 2 from the top and 2 from the bottom before I got my braces cause my teeth were overcrowded. I thought I was going to have huge gaps in my teeth put now they've all moved to where they should be the gaps are gone and the teeth are all lined up and straight. I think it's probably your adult teeth that are going to be pulled out so no teeth will grow in their places the brace should move your other teeth to fill the gaps.

To remove your teeth your dentist will numb your mouth and then pull the teeth straight out, you won't feel anything cause your mouth will be numb. My mouth was numb for 4 hours after and it didn't really hurt after the numbness had gone.

Good luck with your braces, I'm sure it's gunna be worth it in the end.

  3. To many teeth unfortunately is a very common case with lot´s of people.

When it´s so, one should take care on time, not to suffer bigger problems later in life.

Yes, the braces have the function to straiten all your teeth in a row.

It´s not going to hurt much (the teeth will be numbed while pulled out, so you´ll feel nothing then, only later it´ll hurt a little for which you will receive prescription for some pain killer).

Ask your orthodontist all these question you asked now. Let him explain you all what he plans to do. You have the right to know.

You may decide to take one tooth at the time and not both on the same day. It´s just easier.

I have both lower wisdom teeth pulled out (same reason, teeth too crowded) but one at the time. For me, it was more comfortable, because you need to be a bit careful when you eat afterwords that no food comes close to the wound. It takes a week that it closes nicely. So one at the time I think is a better solution. Of course it´s up to you what you find simpler..

Edited: Don´t worry about the gaps. You´re young, the teeth will group together plus there will be your wisdom teeth coming in later! they need space too. It´s better you have space in your mouth for them, then have to pull THEM out!

  4. about a year ago I had 4 teeth removed and I thought the worst and everyone was like four you are going to be in so much pain you will want to die.  Well I was not.  I had them pulled and I had local anesthesia and was very numb when it was done.  They gave me tylenol 3 for pain but I did not take it at all during the day only at night.  The only thing may seem gross I did have some bleeding and I had to stuff my mouth with gauze the first day.  After that I was cool but I did not let my husband know that I spent that whole weekend with him taking care of me.  LOL but you will be okay.

  5. im fourteen too. im getting braces today in an hour.

they will probably take the bracket off and then just pull the tooth just like they normally would

but it may be very painful just a headsup

    take a couple non-asprin painkillers.

    NON-ASPRIN ONLY

    ibuprofen is good.

about 30-90 minutes before you go.

your braces will pull the other teeth together to fill the gap.

    good luck

    and god bless you.

    oh. and the braces.

they have a strong force on them especially when you have them tightened

and slowly the braces will get tighter and tighter as your teeth move and eventually they will close the gap.

  6. Ok,

I just got 4 teeth pulled about an hour ago.

    It took 5 minutes!

When I got to the Dentists, they asked if I wanted to have Laughing Gas. I said yes.

They say that it makes you feel like your floating, but it makes me like vibrate. You get very relaxed.  Then, they put a Rub kind of novacaine on, then they turn the laughing gas on.  Then, they give you probably 2 shots.  You can barely feel the shots!   Then they just take the teeth out.

The Worst part is the worrying part.

    It wasn't bad at all.

  7. it's not going to hurt, just it'll be annoying after their pulled. Your braces are going to put your other teeth there, and your mouth will be less crowded.
