good morning.im writing from italy.tomorrow im flying to england in which im staying till september.this is my question:id like to take cigarettes and handrolling tobacco from italy because our prices are much lower and i smoke quite a lot.so what quantity is it possible to take with.at the airport ive been told 200 cigs, but they were useless(like all the services here in italy)and they didnt know what they were talking about.on internet i found out that in the european union there are no limits of transport,so i can take as many i want.

can you help me to understand how it works?i dont want to have problems.and do you also know if cigarettes and tobacco are considered in the same way,as the same thing,or do i have to count them separatly?

thanks to everyone

  1. As your coming from Italy to England you can bring as much as you like as long as you can prove its for your own use.

  2. As long as its for your own use, you can bring in as much as you want.

  3. You say you are coming to the UK for about 3 months (13 weeks).   How many do you smoke, 20 a day?   If so, you'll need 9 packs of 200    This is perfectly permissable, as they will be for your own use.   Watch the weight though, as the airlines are very strict on charging for excess.   If you want to include some tobacco instead of cigarettes, you can do so.
