does putting braces on hurt?

how many days or hours does it take after the day that the pain would stop?

No, it doesn't hurt. And they're only sore for a few days.

Putting them on doesn't hurt. Just remember to take 2 advil about 30 minutes before EACH Orthodontist appointment and you'll be fine. There may be some days where you'll have to take Advil a couple times.

im going to be honest.

for me, they hurted so baaaad.

it doesn't hurt right away when they put them on, but then it starts to. especially overnight.

a couple of days, maybe. but after that, it'll be fine.

NO THEY DON'T HURT WHEN THEY PUT THEM ON.

But your mouth feels sore a few days afterwards for about a week.

Not really. It doesn't hurt at the time, but its always a good idea to take some Tylenol or Motrin before you go in. Once they've been on an hour or so it starts to hurt and you kinda get a headache. Also, when you go in for each appointment and they change and tighten the wires...that hurts too. Really I guess it depends on how good your orthodontist is though. That's how things were with me, but they could be different for you. Good luck though!
