  1. I obtained a list from my summer school (cerritos college), and it says that people with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology may assist other professionals in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and correctional institutions. Also, job opportunities in Business and Industry doing market research, testing job applicants, or training new employees.

It goes on to list some job fields and says that graduate training is generally required for professional work such as counseling.

I am in my first year too took only 2 psych classes so far.

  2. the first job i got was computer programming for an insurance company.  they started us off in a programming class to do things the way they wanted you to.  i was the only engineer, there was one computer science major, and everyone else had a degree in psychology, education, business, etc., but everyone was a college graduate.  you'll probably find this a lot in business.  they will teach you, they just want to make sure you can learn.  that's the primary use of any college degree.

when i got my first engineering job, i had exactly 3 credits of undergraduate work that matched my job description.

so don't worry about the major, get yourself a college degree.

    good luck...gary

  3. hmm.. if I'm right, you're studying in the Philippines.. ;p if you are, i am sure there's a lot of opportunity for psych majors like you.

you can be part of a company's human resource department. hiring.. screening applicants.. etc.. try mo sa mga call center, marami silang kailangan na ganyan. though, at times, these companies require you to become an agent first for experience.

pwede ka rin sa bank. pwede ka rin sa mga consultancy agencies. pwede rin sa government, civil service.. madami talaga... as in

  4. therapist, school counselor, or you could get a teaching credential and be a psych teacher.

  5. I'm in the same shoes as you (and coincidentally, also studying in Michigan).  I only want a bachelors (not big on school), so I'm getting a BS in Psych and a BA in...  Well, Arts and Humanities specializing in Advertising.  That's my plan so far.  So basically, I have a few options, since I think I could be happy doing a lot of different jobs and haven't really settled on one yet.

The question is, what do you really want to do?  Of course there's always the HS counselor or teaching job, but there are other options too.  Since psychology can be applied to many different areas, a lot of businesses hire them to help them hire others, or to help with marketing strategies, etc etc.  Many jobs are more concerned that you have a college degree.  If you have that and are ok with working your way up the ladder a bit, you might be ok.  If you want to do research or be a prof, then you'll probably have to stay in school and get a masters or PhD.

Or you could do what I'm doing and double major in another area of interest, so then you can fall back on that one if the psych doesn't fall through.

    Good luck!

  6. your best bet is to get you master in psychologist or you are gonna end up working at Burger King.

  7. find other jobs that require a degree in psychology

  8. I'm not one hundred percent sure, but you could try searching online for alternative careers that you're "eligible" for with your degree. either way, i wish you the best in your schooling and anything you choose to do with your life!
