I really need information on a first time buyer loan. Every site I go on wants me to pay for grant information

There are still quite a few loans that will apply to a first time homebuyer...it sounds like you are looking for down payment assistance? Those are different loans. Try FHA, or google "Down Payment Assistance" in your area. There are several entities still out there and I believe they do base it on your income (among other things).

I have to agree w/ other comments. If you don't have money to buy a house, should you be? Be very, very careful not to become the next foreclosure victim. However, in order for this housing crisis to turn around, people need to buy homes. Make sure you are contributing to the solution, not the problem.

Check with your states housing finance agency. They may have he best programs for first time home buyers as well as the availability of grants for down payment assistance.

Members banks of your Federal Home Loan Bank may also have grants available.

You could talk to a HUD approved home ownership counselor in your area as well.
