1. The number inside the lines is the number of spaces away from zero. It's called absolute value. Ignore any positive or negative symbols, and just pay attention to the number itself. The answer is = because 15 is the same distance away from 0 as 15 because they are the same.

  2. Hi,

    It is very simple.

You may have known that the below mentioned equation.

    |a| = a

    |-a| = a

So, there will be always 15 = |15|

    So, your answer is

    |15| = 15

  4. The bars mean Absolute value.

    |12| is 12, as is |-12| It would still be 12.

So |15|=15 because the absolute value of 15 is 15. Even if it was |-15| it would still be an equal sign, because the absoulte value of -15 is 15.

    Hope this helped. Good Luck!!

  5. =

the bars mean that anything inside of them is positive

Ex: |2-7|=5 ----- on problems like this 1... it is more like |(2-7)|

    |-4|=4
