I really need your help!! who knows about surfing?

Question

my singing group are going to cali and me and my friends really want to go surfing. however i cant seem to find a surf shop that rents surfboards close to the beach we are staying at. we are going to newport beach/ pier. we are only staying there 3 hours.

so could you help me out??

here is the link for the instructions on how to get there. The starting point is from the resturant at the end of the pier so just start at the beginning  of the pier and it should take you there. The drive time is about five minutes from the start of the pier to the shop.here is the map link.
