i wear pretty much everything else: eyeshadow, concealer, and lip gloss...and i really like the way mascara looks but i'm not sure if my mom will let me...how do i ask her? and when do i ask her? should i go to the grocery store with her and ask if i can look in the lip gloss section and when she comes there when she's done shopping ask her? because the mascara is right next to the lip gloss and nail polish. or should i ask her at home? and just like at dinner or something say "mom, can i wear mascara?" or "mom, am i allowed to wear mascara?" how do i ask? i can't just go out and buy some because she'd be the one taking me...i'm only 13..help!

  1. You can ask your mom by saying, "Mom, I really want to start wearing mascara.  Is that all right with you?"  Ask her when it is just you two alone because you do not want any other family members objecting to it and then influencing your mom's decision. Also, ask her when she is in a good mood so your chances of her saying "yes" are bigger.  You could ask her as you guys are passing the makeup aisle or just ask her at home.  [:

  2. well u could just tell her how all ur other friends r allowed to wear mascara (if they r, that is) and maybe u could have her talk to ur friend's mom or something like that, or u could just get some without her knowing and put it on at school than take it off when u get home...!

  3. well, i'm also 13,  and i am allowed to wear whatever i want, as long as it is not to dramatic. If she lets wear eyeshadow, then she ill most likely let you wear mascara. I wear eyeliner too. But i have blue eyes, so i wear brown mascara and eyeliner, and that is good if you have green eyes too. but if you have a different color eyes [ like brown or hazel] black would suit you better. I would just get some and out it in the cart and see what she says.

  4. just ask her the worse she can do is say no.

  5. haha, it may seem like a big deal.

    but its not.

your mom wears make up too.

at the store pickup a mascara you want and be like mom  can i have this, or just put it in the cart. your mom will see it but i dont think she will care. or be like which mascara do you suggest?

    mom knows best.

  6. i know 10 year olds that wear mascara. im pretty sure a parent cant say no to their children wearing makeup unless you have no idea what youre doing and put way too much on. just go up to her at the store with the mascara in your hand and ask if you can get it... say you wanna try it out and see how it looks. :)

  7. dont worry,i am 13 too. just be like at the store, and go up to the mascara and be like, " mom look, this is like the kind all my friends use! can i get it?" but dont be like worried to ask her, and ask her all alone, cause it is not like a big deal, so if you act like it is not a big deal, like you already know that you can wear it, she probably wont think of it as a big deal or a big decision. good luck! :)

  8. Hey, my best advice is to ask your mom at home. From what you are telling us in your question, it seems your mom might be a little hesitant to let you wear mascara so, if you ask her at home you can have a proper discussion about it, as you wouldn't be able to in the middle of a supermarket.

The only problem with mascara is that it may cause eye infections, so NEVER share your mascara or borrow from other people. Also, change your mascara every 6 months or so, to prevent eye infections (i'm a makeup artist i know).

I was wearing mascara at your age and never had any problems..it's part of growing up. Good Luck!

  9. Do not do anything sly. Ask your mother if she would show you how mascara works. Let her do the application and then talk about how it looks. She will possibly argue that at 13 you are too young to wear full make-up, since it tends to make a girl look older and she could attract undesirable company. Mothers are naturally protective and you have to understand that.

So, ask her. Even if she protests, you can suggest that it would do no harm to see, since it would be put on by an expert. You may be disappointed by the result, but that is all part of the experimentation involved in growing up.

    Best of luck.

By the way there is absolutely nothing wrong in a girl looking her age and being young. In years to come you will understand that youth is a rose that dies all too soon.

  10. cute name. :)

when you're out with your friends buy some, then show your mom and be like "mom look, it was on sale, isn't it so cool?" then she can wither be like I dont want you wearing that, but if you already wear all the other stuff, she cant really not let you wear it.

Or if a big partys coming up wear some of hers (ask of course) then start weqring it slowly, like every other day.

  11. Try a Lash Tint rather than a mascara. It basically does the same thing as mascara, but its less harsh and more natural looking. Your mom may feel more comfortable if she knows it will not be too drastic!

  12. Either go to the store and just ask "can i get this?"

or ask her if you are allowed then go get some. Not too big of a problem, i'm sure she'll say yes!

  13. hmm, ask at the store when youre at the makeup section.

    just tell her,

'mom, mascara looks really nice on me, i was wondering if you could buy me some, please"

  14. I think you already have the right idea. Just be up front and honest with her. If she says no to black mascara, ask if you can try brownish black or clear mascara. They are both good jumping points and will show her you will wear it properly and wash it off every day like you should. Then she would be more likely to let you step it up to black! I started with clear when I was your age! =)

  15. I bought mine wiv my friend wen we went shoppin 2getha nd i sed she gav it 2 me coz it woz buy 1 get 1 free. But i think u sld ask her wen ur near the mascara n say that if i wear concealer y arnt i wearin mascara 4 most people they wear that b4 they start wearin concealer

  16. def. at the store.

thats how i started wearing eyeliner and im 14.

i was like hey mom can i get this.

    and she said yeah.

so ask can i get this?
