I really want a kitten my parents wont me because i have a dog. do you have answers for me?

i promised my little sis that if i get the cat she could have my dog.also i told my parents i could take care of it.my mom dosent think so because i keep killing my fish. {they died because of the dirty fish tank}i told her it will be alot easy if she bought a filter for them!

Proving to them that i am responsible did not cause my parent's to get me a cat, don't even try it. And if your mom wouldn't buy a filter to save your fish's lives, what makes you think that your mom would get your kitten vaccination shots or proper care? I ended up getting two of my kittens from stray cats that had babies in my friend's garage, aha.

first you need to think about if you'll love the cat forever, or if you'll just get tired of it.  most cats just lay around after they outgrow the kitten stage.  but if you are going to commit to it, tell your mom dogs and cats get along fine.  i have 4 dogs and 3 cats and they love eachother!  but like i said you'll have to accept full responsibility for it.  and the litter box can get pretty stinky!  good luck and hope i helped!

i recently went through this........it is not a good idea to get a kitten if you have a dog. Especially if your dog is aggressive. we tried this and it eventually ended in heartbreak because we had to give the kitten away. its possible for the two to live together but most likely the kitten wont be happy and it will always be fearful and end up not being cuddly or fun because its always scared of the dog.

Your parents are right, you already are fed up with your dog and now you want a cat..If I loved my dog I wouldnt want to give it to anyone, not even my sister...

Prove to them you can take care of the cat by keeping the fish tank clean.  A cat and littler box is a lot more work than cleaning a fish tank.  Also, maybe start taking care of the dog all by yourself.  Tell your parents, you'll do it for a month or two and if you can take care of the dog all by yourself, then it will prove to them that you can take care of a kitten.  This means walking it, feeding it, brushing it, cleaning up after it EVERY TIME it makes a mess, and taking 100% responsibility for it.  This deal will probably work, as it will prove to your parents that you're responsible to take care of it by yourself and they won't have to take care of it.  I say, start out by going and cleaning the fish tank now and KEEPING it clean.  Then talk to your parents again and try to make the deal with them and prove to them you can take care of the dog, which will show them how bad you want the cat and that you can take care of it.
