I really want a lovebird?

ok i have wanted a lovebird for so long, i know i''m ready and responsible. I have tried everything to get them convinced. I'm so ready to have an awesome experience. Any tips or facts about lovebirds would be awesome or anyone who has had the same experience and inally gat one or anything like that. thank you guys !

  1. lovebirds are ferociously demanding of your attention. if you want them to love you, never get another lovebird or your out of the picture!

  4. I have had Love Birds before, they are beautiful, but extremely messy. You have to clean their cages almost daily. If you put paper in their cage to catch the droppings, they will chew it up as fine as they can get it. And they really do better in pairs, unless you have enough time to spend with them. The other person that said they are demanding of your time, is absolutely correct! That's why it's better to have two of them together, so they can keep each other happy. I have 25 years Bird experience and I am a Bird lover, so I try to help people that have questions with Birds. Hope this helps!

  5. Try out this site- it's a forum of lovebird owners. It has anything and everything you can think of about lovebirds, and if there's something you don't see, you can always just ask.

    In general though, lovebirds are very smart, funny little parrots. They like to play, and generally the more time they can spend out of their cage with you the happier they'll be. They don't need to be kept in pairs, that's a myth. If you buy a bird that's been hand fed, from a good breeder, you'll have a goofy little companion that will want to be with you all the time, trying to "help you" with whatever it is you're doing.
