  1. You should wait a while, and if u all r watching an ice skatin show, u should say somethin like, "Man I love Ice skating. I wish I could do it. May I?" and they will probably think about it. U just hafta keep ur hope, and always keep ur chin up high, even if ur down...!!!

  2. Don't be afraid!  There's nothing bad about skating!  It's a great way to keep active, get some exercise and meet some great friends.  The only bad thing about skating is it can become very expensive.

Before you talk to your parents, gather some info.  Check out where your closest rink is and see if they offer group skating lessons.  Group lessons are usually much cheaper than private lessons (and probably better if you're just starting out), so the price may be a little easier to bring up to your parents.  See if you can even maybe get a brochure explaining the lessons or print something off the internet.  Get the times, dates, cost and location.  As for equipment for skating, all you really need are a decent pair of skates.    You can wear things you probably already have for skating....sweats, stretch pants, t-shirt, sweatshirt/fleece, gloves.  Maybe also check out some skates that would work well for a beginning skater, but will last you awhile such as Riedells or Jacksons.  Check their websites and match your skill level.  These skates, while they may cost more than what you'd find at a sporting goods store, will last you longer.  If you go to a skate shop, they can fit you and set you up with a boot/blade set that will get you through most levels of group lessons.

Once you have all your information together, set up a "family meeting' with your parents.  Present your cause as maturely and as organized as possible.  Tell them you'd really like to take skating lessons because ______________ (fill in your reason here....you love the sport, for exercise, etc.).  Show them that you found lessons that aren't too expensive so that if you decide you don't like it, you don't have a ton of money invested.  Explain that when you're starting out, you can try out rental skates and you hope to find skates that will last you awhile.  Tell them you're really excited about the possibility and hope that they would support you in your new found sport!

Good luck and I hope it all works out for you! :)

  3. ask them dur

  4. Ask them anyway. The worst they could do is say no, right?

  5. Go ahead and ask them, it won't hurt to ask, it will hurt more to not ask and never know. Good luck!

  6. ask them. parents might sometimes seem life controlling but they want you to be happy. ice skating isn't really special, the worse that can happen is a rejection. luckily, you'll be able to ice skate

  7. Why are you afraid to ask your parents?

I know that my parents wanted to know we were going ice-skating because it used to be on the pond at the end of the street. An adult would usually come by and check to see if everything is ok.

ASK THEM. If they are afraid that you will get hurt falling, then ask one of them to join you.

  8. can't understand how talking to your parents is a scary subject.  talk to your school counselor if there is abuse or other violence in your home.

  9. Ice skating is cool. I'm 50 and I LOVE to skate. I didn't have the opportunity to learn until I took skating as an elective phys-ed course in college at Miami U (Ohio).  Ask 'em!! Look, the WORSE thing they can say is "no", right?
