  1. The new BlackBerry Pearl is just the same "junk under the trunk" as all the other BlackBerry's. They just gave it an iPhone inspired face lift. If you are a power-user (i.e. a technical user) then you should go with a Windows Mobile based device. If you are a simple-user (i.e. just want to make phone calls and check your email) then see if the iPhone or any other Symbian device works for you. Ask around in the store. The phone should meet your needs. You shouldn't have to adapt to the phone. And don't buy something just because it's s**y. The iPhone for example, looks AMAZING, but it can only run one application at a time (single threaded CPU) so if you are logged into MSN Messenger and you receive a call... Messenger gets shutdown and you get disconnected.

  2. IPHONE OR VOYAGER!

  3. well i have a bb pearl and yea i like it...theres alot of deals with smartphones right now so i would say go for it....ps it does do alot for me im into sports and they have a free application that allows you to see sports updates and scores etc

  4. Lmao. Nice one, i'm getting one too...

  5. i would say bad purchase because it gets expensive with the required additional monthly fees to operate the blackberry...i think for Cingular, its another $35 on top of the monthly rate plan, surcharges and taxes.

its still cute though. but I personally wouldn't purchase it for myself...unless of course, you have a lot of disposal income laying around

  6. get an iphone

  7. My mother owns this phone.  She enjoys it on some occasions but of course you only hear about the bad things and never the good things.  But here are some of the things she complains about...

    1) She recieves lots of e-mails from her work and also some text messages from me.  The e-mails and text messages arrive in the same fashion/folder.  So occasionally when I text her it gets lost in the mass amount of e-mails she recieves.

    2) Everytime she goes through a metal detector/security theft prevention the alarm goes off.  It's nothing against the phone structure but is quite amusing to watch... always has to apologize and say it's her phone that sets those things off.

    3)  If she is sending a message and gets a call during the message it gets deleted and not saved.  So, she has to start the message all over when the call is finished.

    4)  Always complains how long the internet takes to load and function.

I am also in the market for a new phone.  Been searching all over and the phones that I have been most interested are; Samsung Instinct (which is coming out soon as the iphone killer),  Palm Centro (I have the Palm Treo 700 and am most familiar with it... even though sometimes I want to throw it out the window),  HTC Touch or Mogul.

Those are all from Sprint, which is obviously my carrier, but I think they have most of these in other providers.

    Good luck!

  8. I just got a white one.  I like it.  I needed something for work that would send me my emails.  Otherwise everyone else that sees it says its sweet, it was that or a full sized Blackberry and I'm glad now I got the Pearl.

  9. I had the choice between a blackberry or an iPhone, and i chose the blackberry.

the blackberry surf's the web faster, has more features that are business related and works alot quicker in general, plus no annoying fingerprints and touch buttons!

The only problem with the verizon network and blackberries is that it requires you to buy the blackberry plan, which is 45.99 a month i believe? and it gives you unlimited email and internet access, while other carriers such as ATT and TMOBILE don't require you to activate that package.

overall, i find my blackberry curve, and the pearl to be awesome phones. they're compact, fast, offer a great music player, has great sound quality and is sharp looking.

But if your going to text alot, i recommend you getting a blackberry with a full keyboard, such as the CURVE, or the 8800 which are both now avaliable on the verizon network.
