yes it can play tv shows and movies. u can download movies and then convert them to put in the ipod or u can just buy and download movies from itunes. but u need a credit card or a gift card and a itunes account.

It depends which nano you get, if you get the skinny one then no. but if you get the fat one then it will play shows and i have one and its great! you should tottaly get one!
