I'm going to be a junior, which I know is a bit young to be thinking about this sort of thing, but I really want to live there. Mostly because of the healthy lifestyle they have, and I think CO would be great for raising kids. We have relatives in Golden, which town is particularly ideal for me. I just love the atmosphere of Golden!! I love how there's an outdoor shopping mall close, and lots of short trails around lakes and such. Not to mention, I love seeing all the animals. (Which I know you'll find all of Colorado) Are most other cities in Colorado like Golden?

I want to go into either musical theater or journalism/broadcasting. Would CO have good job opportunities for these types of things?

I don't think I'll be going to college in Colorado, but I'm just wondering a bit about my future. : )

Thanks for all the answers in advance!

  1. Yea you would even see a deer in the middle of the streets.

  2. If you want musical theatre you will need to stay near to Denver.  If you are willing to settle for radio broadcasting you might get work in the more quaint small towns.  I suggest that you not tie yourself down too young and keep your options open.  Since you like the atmosphere of Golden you would also like Summit County.  Go to Dillon and Breckenridge and check them out.

  3. Colorado is great

  4. There is a thriving theater in Denver, and journalism/broadcasting, well, we have news and all that right here.  Four major stations, two sports networks.  You could find work.  The star of the B'Way musical The Little Mermaid got her start in Denver, as did Kerri Russell, Anna Sophia Robb, and several others.  The woman who won the Tony as the Lady of the Lake did a show, here, as well.  Big Theater, here.  Small theater.  Everything in between.

Other cities like Golden?  the whole front range is related...Evergreen, Lakewood, Arvada, Conifer, Morrison...you might really like Morrison.  Very tiny town.  The biggest thing there is Red Rocks Park, and the natural Amphitheater, there.  Cute little town.  And as you go west, even more neat little mountain towns.

Yeah, you should definitely give Denver a chance.
