I do not find all the methods on books or on the internet effective. I need the opinion and advice of someone who used to smoke 10 to 15 cigarettes per day and quit smoking.

Please help, thank you..

  1. Simple- you not only need to want to give up smoking, you need to NEED to give up smoking, and you will when you are ready.

  2. Ex smoker here. I was a heavy smoker for 20 years.

    I recommend 3 things:

    1. The Patch (the clear one is less irritating).

    2. Allen Carr's book on quitting smoking. It's a bit goofy, but if you get the point he is making, it sinks in.

    3. http://www.quitnet.com

I used that site to quit and it was a real life saver. It's free and has 24 hour support, forums, etc. All people who are about to quit or who have quit. Do take the time to check it out.

As well, cravings only last 2 minutes tops, so just sip on some water... you can get through 2 minutes. And they do lessen as each day passes.

Lastly, buy some puzzles, crosswords, a deck of cards or a Rubic's Cube to keep your hands busy.

  3. There is nothing we as humans can do to permanently stop abusing our bodies without the help of God. Oh, we may get temporary help or think something is working even for years, but if you want to be totally healed of any and all addictions then you need the healer Jesus Christ. Millions of people have used the 12 steps to be healed.

  4. try to listen musik, look movies play vidéo games, you can also do anythings sport

swimming is very good for respiration, try to climbing a mountain

change your friends if they are smookers

  5. Take how many cigarettes you smoke a day and drop one like this:

    smoke 15 - first day

    smoke 14 - next 2 days

    smoke 13 - 3 days

    etc. till you reach 0.

    It will take a while.
