I really want to write to a kid in Africa that has aids or is in an orphanage?

I cant find any websites that dont cost money! all i want to do is write to a kid in africa...and maybe send them gifts and pictures and get to know them...PLEASE HELP!!!

That's a commendable idea.  Most of the websites you are visiting are asking for donations, they don't "cost" money.  But usually at least 25 cents of every dollar people donate goes to expenses and salaries, not to the people who need the money.  Some are much worse, giving only 10cents of each dollar.

Kids in Africa and other third world countries, even kids in the USA  are homeless, and therefore don't have an address to deliver mail to.  I don't know how you would find an address of an individual kid, but with some more searching you might find one for an orphanage, although there are very few over there.  You need to remember that the poor in Africa are usually living on the street, not in a building.  This will make it hard to have an address to mail it to.  Whatever you do, do not send money through the mail, give out credit card numbers, etc, because their mail is sometimes gone through by criminals looking for cash.  Many scams originate from Africa because they don't have the resources to police everything as we do here.

Just a suggestion, but why not do the same idea in your hometown?  It is easy to physically volunteer at soup kitchens and other types of charities, and you could choose to be helpful to someone you met in person.
