  1. Obviously on some list somewhere, your name is incorrect.  That's not fraud.  Unless you want to apply for the card, don't worry about it.


  2. Most likely there is a typo in one of your credit bureau reports.  I would suggest getting hold of your reports (you can get one per year for free in the U.S.) and checking them to see if any of the credit bureaus have mistakes.  Then contact the agency and have the mistake corrected.  Credit card companies buy lists of possible customers all the time.

  3. It's not really fraud.  They don't have any of your vital information.  The CC company just bought your name from list sold by a magazine that you subscribe to, a company that you've done business with, a website that you've signed up with, etc. and whoever it was has your name misspelled.   They are sending you an application hoping that you'll apply.  If you're worried check your credit report.  You are legally entitled to one free credit report from each of the three main bureaus each year.  They are Equifax, Experion and TransUnion.  You can call the CC company that sent you the app and ask to be removed from their mailing list.
