I enlisted in the military went to bootcamp but couldn't finished due to bad knees ! i received a ch 11 instead of a ch 2! my First SGT told me that if was better because it was going to be easier to get back into the military with a ch 11 than with a ch 2! is that true? If so can i join the military again? if so what do i have to do? and how long is it going to take me to get back???

  1. chapter 11?  that's not medical, that means you have discipline problems.  good luck coming back in with that one.  you can always talk to your old recruiting station to check your options, but it doesn't look promising.

  2. No matter what branch - a physical will determine your eligibility. If you are claiming VA disability for your knees you can not get back in the service as "disabled".

  3. A chapter 11 discharge is an entry level separation when the recruit had less than 180 days in the army.

Your 1SG was telling you the truth. All you have to do is wait a year, and see a recruiter. They'll send you back through a physical and if you pass, you're in the army going back to basic again.

  4. what's your RE code and has the problem with your knees been resolved?
