The letter was from Halifax Loto Prize Inc. which is located in London. I tried to look up information about this place on the internet but I didn't find anything. It stated that the payment office is located in Canada.

  1. It's not.  It has all the ear marks of scam to me.

  2. First of all, did you enter the contest they say you won. If not, then not. You have to enter a contest to win a contest. You can't win the world cup if your not on the team that wins. Use your head, if you didn't play, and they're asking for a lot of banking information, it a SCAM.

  3. If you did not enter the lottery or if they are asking for money, they are not legit. You are never required to pay money to get money. If you think about it, it doesn't even make sense. If they had to cover some expense, they would take it out of what they were going to pay you...

  4. The ONLY way you could have won that was if you ENTERED the sweepstakes!

It is most likely a scam, unless you remember entering a sweepstakes of that sort..

  5. Hi I am Joyce 1. Go to www.spoof.com and i am pretty sure you will find your answer. It is a wbsite for scams. I feel for this one also.

  6. I've gotten allot of these kinds of letters,  their all scams or else they would have notified you in person.
