I received a moving violation and the officer wrote down on the citation that the car was registered to me, though it is in-fact registered to my father. Is it possible to get this violation dismissed on those grounds? I live in Los Angeles. Thank you for your help in advance

  1. I doubt it. Moving violations aren't associated with the car; they're associated with the license-holder. Also, don't you have to sign the ticket when you get it in LA? Your signature would be sufficient evidence.

  2. The short answer is No.

  3. No.  Clerical errors are not valid grounds to dismiss a case that has its own merits.

  4. they probably wont dis-miss it,if they had written down the wrong violation on it the might dis-miss it,this is a minor mistake on their part, you may get lucky though and them dis-miss it this time but i doubt it,their pretty strict on moving violations out there ,good luck with it.
