ok so i sold something to someone who wanted to pay me through paypal, he sent me $300, i got an email saying that i received a payment from paypal, i got the $300, but when i go to my paypal account, the money doenst show there. whats the problem? why doesnt the transaction show up in the transaction history, and why doesnt the payment show on my account? could it be because of this, i got it from the paypal website (i dont understand it though) :

"Seller Reputation

The Seller Reputation Number measures how many Verified PayPal members have paid that seller. New transactions are added 30 days after they occur, to ensure that the Reputation Number reflects successful exchanges.

*New accounts, which are less than 6 weeks old, do not show a Seller Reputation Number until they have had time to transact with the PayPal Community."

ive only had my account for 25 days, i just received the payment today. i was able to recieve other money sent to me, (like $10) but not this huge amount. help anyone?

  1. If you can, verify your account as soon as possible.  This will not only protect you, but your buyers too.  It's simple to do and saves a lot of hassle.  Like the other person said, the e-mail might not be from PayPal, I've had a few scammers come my way (sending me fake Amazon e-mails, since I am an Amazon seller.)  You can e-mail the buyer, explain that you are just waiting until the money comes through to ship and agree to send the item with delivery confirmation so they know they are not being scammed.  If the money doesn't show up in about 48 business hours, I would contact PayPal directly (look on the paypal website, not the e-mail and call.)  They may need further proof of your identity, or it could be a problem on the buyers end.  Whatever you do, don't send the item out until the money is received.

  2. The email you received may not have been from Paypal.  It may have been from a scam artist who is trying to convince you to send the item before you check your Paypal account.  This has been known to happen to new sellers who sell high-priced items.  Never ship before you have the money in your Paypal account.  "Unverified" just means that you don't have your bank account linked to your Paypal account.  You can call Paypal and ask them:  1-888-221-1161.

  3. since your new to paypal sometimes they hold what they consider "high risk" payments to insure that you follow through with sending the package and complete the transaction with positive feedback. Your best bet is to contact paypal.
