I received an insurance overpayment and cannot repay in full. What is the minimum legally acceptable payment that I can pay and avoid collection efforts?

  1. Zero.  They don't have to accept ANY payment, and they likely won't.  They'll just go to court and garnish your wages.

    I'd say, if you can do 1/4 over the next four months until it's paid back, you can avoid the collections.  But if they have to wait more than four months, they'll just go to court.  It's more sure.
