I received my claims check from the insurance company. i had to get the lein holder to sign it. they made it?

out to the body shop and sent it back to me to sign. the estimate was for $1220. the check was made out for $2300. its made out to the body shop so do i get the difference back?

  1. You will have to speak with the shop.

    Just because the original estimate was 1220 does note mean the repairs were 1220.  It is possible there was a supplement for hidden damage that was found when your car was torn down.

    To answer your question -- if the check exceeded the cost of the repairs- the shop should give you the difference.


  2. Yes, the body shop should refund you the difference.
