  1. It is spam, delete it off.

  2. WARNING:

You should not have pasted the link, as anyone clicking on it, will end up having the same problem as yours!!

    -------------------------

Those 'Vietnamese links' sending out IMs to your contacts on your Messenger List is called 'SpIM' it is spam over instant messaging (IM).

Spim is perpetuated by bots that harvest IM screen names off of the Internet (chatrooms mainly) and simulate a human user by sending spam to the screen names via an instant message.

The spim typically contains a link to a Web site that the spimmer is trying to market.

When a contact clicks at the link, the link attaches itself to the clicker's id, and the id sends IMs to all his contacts on his Messenger list.  It spreads to other people who will click on the link.

The only known way not to receive these instant messages right now is to make your list exclusive (only contacts on your list can instant message you).

This is what you can do to protect yourself:

Click the Messenger menu and choose Preferences.

    Click ‘Ignore List’

Click 'Ignore anyone who is not on your Messenger list.

Messages from people not on your contact list will be blocked. You'll still be able to add users to your buddy list.

On 'Privacy'....To prevent spim through Yahoo's Web interface, choose 'Do not allow users to see me online and contact me in the'..... 'When people see my ID on Yahoo Web sites' section.

    Click 'OK' when done.

Click the link to download Anti Spim

    http://www.anti-spim.us/

If the problem persists, delete your Yahoo Messenger and download a new one.

  3. It's spam.
