I recenlty bought a '92 BMW 525i what does 525i mean?

and i foiund out the i means injected engine but whats that and how does that help?

5 means - 5 series. BMW has 3, 5, 6, 7 8 series.

25 means- engine displacement, in this case  2.5 Ltr or 2500 cc. All BMW model codes are this way. like 320, 325, 520,523,525, 635, 728,730,735 etc, just to give you some examples.

i means- fuel injection, that means that it is not a carbeurator and that the fuel is injected and it helps the car perform better with more power. In earlier models such as this one you bought, it can be a little problematic.
