I recently bottom'd out my xl800 yamaha... what should i do to clean out debris that was sucked in?

Sucked in sand and small rocks

d**n, I did the same thing to mine last weekend! Lucky for me, I just pushed it back into the water after running up on an unseen sand bar - and it started right back up, no problems.  I dunno about yours though -- I guess it would really depend on how much debris you sucked up in the intake. I think all I had was a little bit of sand, no rocks. Gotta be careful not to damage the turbines. If it's bad, I'd probably call Yamaha and get them to tell me what they thought. Good luck.
