The snipe sailboat is a VERY popular class of boat, and accessories and sails are commonly found on both Ebay and Craigslist.

If you want to make your own sails, check out this site for "how to" books and sail materials:

And if want to go real cheap, try a "poly sail" or a sail made out of poly tarp.  They work great on small sail boats.  Just google "poly tarp sail" and you'll get a ton of hits.  But here is one site where you can get a kit for as low as $50:

With a kit, you can make your own sail in about 4 hours, and at $50 a pop, you can even afford a little experimentation.
