I recently bought a projector that is HD..There is a DVI-D port... how do i connect.......?

My new optoma h27 projector has a DVI-D port and my HD DVD player has an HDMI port but no DVI port. Is there a converter or such? I just need a way to connect THE project AND the DVD player so i can watch in HD (DVI-D) quality...

  1. You just need a HDMI to DVI cable, or a converter to do such.

    You can find the cables or converters (whichever you want to do, but the cable is cheaper) on www.monoprice.com


  2. Run to Best Buy or whatever electronic store is local. They should have an HDMI to DVI adapter cable.

  3. you would need a cable to carry the HDMI signal into the DVI-D port, but using the cable will eliminate the sound, as it will carry only the video signal and drop the rest. HDMI has both video and sound running through the same cable, the best solution would be try to find a product that can split the signals into video (DVI-D) and Audio, just be aware that the projector you have isnt HD, Its 854 by 480 resolution qualifies it as an enhanced definition display, ideally suited for DVD but also compatible with 1080i and 720p sources. therefore being less quality than HDTV,
