i recently bought some mice from the pet shop and i think they have mites are they safe to feed to my savannah monitor. please help

  1. um mm no. take them back to the pet store and buy frozen instead, no chance of parasites  


  2. it depends what sort of mites but i wouldnt as they may be a sort that can be passed on to your sav

  3. I suggest you kill them (quickly and painlessly though, donk them on the head/neck on a sharp corner of something) and place them in the freezer for at least 6 weeks.

    This will kill off any nasties and parasites, only downside is you will need to buy more until they are ready.

    I suggest just to buy frozen ones anyway, and thaw them as you need them. They still smell like mice and have all the nutrients a live one does, your monitor won't notice the difference.

    Its just a lot more convenient and safer!
