But when I step brake panel, the brake lights are on. Is this normal? Are brake lights ( or called parking lights?) and tail lights the same lights?

  1. Yes and no. They are housed in the same lens assembly, and sometimes they are even the same bulb. However they run on different circuits, and if your headlight switch is in the "On" position, your taillamps should be illuminated. A thought just occurred to me. I'm not saying anything bad now, so hear me out. Alot of cars sold between 1999 and about 2005 and indeed some sold now, have DRL's (Daytime running lights), which come on automatically when the car is started. I personally have driven cars with this at night, and have been told my taillights were out but my brakelights worked. DRL's only make the lowbeam headlights come on, and the taillights do NOT turn on with them. Once I turned the headlights on with the switch, the taillights came on. If this is not the case here, then check your fuses, change the bulbs, and if that doesn't help, get it to a shop to have it checked out.

    Good luck

  2. you have to turn your lights on for them to stay lite all the time no they arent tail lights are in the back of your car and parking lights are the two amber or clear looking lights on the inside of the headlight hope this helped
