I feel bad because I'm not that good of a player. I need to get better! People are mean when I don't get the ball and cause the other team to get a point. How could I feel better about myself playing when I'm the worst player on the team?

  1. hey, it happens. i recently started playing too (like 4 months ago) and all i can tell you is just keep practicing. im still not the best player, but ive gotten so much better. thats all you need. it helps if your team wasnt so mean to you, but it happens to everyone. just use that to your advantage, and feed off their negative remarks. but my main advice is to just practice, practice, practice.

  2. First they shouldn't be making fun of you everyone struggles in the beginning.  Try to find out what you are doing wrong and ask if someone can practice with you or find out from your coach if there are any drills that you can do to become better.  Just practice as much as possible and you will get better.

  3. I have played volleyball for 18 years and I am very competitive.  I do not like to make mistakes when playing.  Unfortunately I am not perfect.  Sometimes I just get a little to competitive and yell.  Don't take it so personal when someone is saying something to you if you mess up.  Just get out there and do your best.  Practice with people that are better than you. Play but have fun.  Let the comments role off your shoulders

  4. everyone has there days and so the people that say those things about you have there days coming!! the game isn't just about winning its about having fun while you do it! your coach knows whats best and you made the team you don't suck too bad do ya?? :D:D

  5. It takes a lot of practice.  I know it's embarassing to be really bad, I was really bad, but you have to dedicate yourself to practicing fundamentals all the time.  You have to break down your game and figure out why you're not getting the ball, and practice regularly, even if it means extra drills outside of practice.  I used to be unable to set to save my life, then I just kept setting against a wall, or a basketball backboard, I just kept doing it, now everyone I meet thinks I'm a setter.  You can't wait until gametime for everything to work out.   It takes a lot of work to get better and you've gotta be willing to put in that effort.  Talk to your coach, and see if he/she has anything to help you out with, if you can get in some extra practice sessions, then you'll start getting better.  I know it seems really unfair because a lot of other players have been playing longer and stuff, but you have to just keep going at it, for the first 2 years of playing in highschool I definitely felt like I held my team back, but keep working at it and you'll get better.

  6. Aks you coach to see what you are doing wrong.

  7. you should never ever feel bad about it. no one is perfect at anything right away. i played volleyball for over 20 years on alot of different levels and TO THIS DAY i cannot pass the ball as well as i want to. dont let ppl get ya down and just continue to practice. who knows maybe someday the mean ppl will be riding the bench while u are leading a team to victory!!!!!!

  8. If the other people are making mean comments when you mess up ask them to help you if they think that your that bad. Make some friends on the team so that they can help you learn and practice with you. Once you get the hang of it you will love it. If they still make mean comments just ignore them and tell your selfe that your doing your best. Good luck!!
