  1. registration = Coast Guard in USA

    Plate = DMV

    good luck

  2. First off you need to get in touch with the owner and tell them, also notify the police so they know, and ask them what they recomend you do.

  3. This is a funny question since boats don't even have license plates.  If it is newer than around 1979, every boat is required to have a Hull Identification Number stamped into stern, usually on the upper right or left hand corner behind the boat.  This may be traceable at the DMV.  Also, if it was ever registered, there is usually a square registration sticker that would be on each side of the boat, more toward the bow.

  4. The "vessel certificate" for the boat has nothing to do with the registration and license of the trailer.  They are two separate vehicles.  You need to contact the owner to ge a new license plate and registration certificate for the trailer.

  5. your screwed! go to the DMV, duh!

  6. Report the loss of plate to police. Keep trying to get owners. They are the ones who can get a new plate. Never heard of a plate for a boat so am assuming you mean boat trailer. Boats have registration papers and identification numbers on side. Good Luck!
