was finished... So for about 6 weeks she was away. Now that I have brought her to the new home, she hasn't eaten and hasn't used her litter (for 2 days now). She is showing some signs of nervousness, but nothing that would indicate a total abstinence from eating or going to bathroom. Any idea what may be going on?

Is she likely using the bathroom in the house somewhere?

Her litter box is the same one she has been using... same with the food dish and I have shown her where both are several times over the past 2 days.

  1. She is just getting used to her new home.  When my parents moved the cats hid and didn't eat for a few days.  They adjusted soon and made themselves right at home.  They were older cats as well.  Good luck!

  2. Regardless of the reason, it is very serious when cats don't eat.  Not eating for 48 hours can cause liver damage.  You should have your cat seen by a vet as soon as possible.  The reason is probably the upheaval, but the not eating has to be dealt with.

You might try calling around to pet stores to see if you can find a product called Feliway.  It's supposed to calm cats in stressful situations (like moving).  PetSmart carries it (link is below).
