Go to the stables and ask if they need help

In VA there are many of them

Most will exchange lessons for work

Unless you want to muck out stalls most will pay for that ,,not much to live on

But it's Job,

Check the local papers' (or their websites) classifieds sections.  If there are some ranches in your area, maybe just go and knock on the door and ask the owner/manager.  Good luck.
