I recently paid a old collection's on my credit file before i knew about pay to delete what do i do now?

  1. Ignore Pengy..who obviously does not frequent Yahoo Answers very much or he would have seen the constant references that you can NOT re-age debts on your credit report.  He is confusing it with the Statute of Limitation laws.

    Crazy is correct.  Now that the creditor has your money you have no leverage over them.  You can politely ask them to delete it but it rarely works.


  2. Well your best bet is to wait anywhere from 30-90 days and dispute the listing, as sometimes the collection agencies won't bother to verify a paid account and/or they purge their records.

    You can also try sending a "goodwill letter" to a supervisor at the collection agency. Sometimes you'll find one with half a heart that will remove the collection from your report.

  3. Well you just re aged your account, they have the money and do not care, so it will be 7 more years
