  1. Late payments do hurt and will remain on your reports for 7 years from the date of the late.

    If that was your only late pay with them and you had a good reason for being late then you might send them a goodwill letter explaining the reason why you were late, telling about how you have been a good customer, etc., etc. and ask them if they would not report the late


  2. HINT: Your credit score is immaterial. The fact that you paid late is of the highest importance. Get on a written budget and ensure this doesn't happen again.

  3. Most likely cost you around 30-50 points depending on how thick/thin your credit file is.
