  1. What are you not impressed about the lens? Is it not sharp enough, not fast enough, doesn't zoom enough? Most kit lenses that come with SLR's leave a lot to be desired (thats how you can get a cheap camera) and typically don't zoom much. My evolt 510 came with a 14-42 mm (28-84 35mm equiv) and it didn't zoom enough for me, so i bought zuiko's 40-150mm f/3.5-4.5. The lens you mentioned is a good lens, even though somewhat slow. A friend of mine bought a D80 with that lens and has been rather impressed with it. However, you should consider going for a faster lens, possibly one with an aperture of around 2.0 to 3.5. Consider this one (http://www.shop.com/Sigma_Zoom_Wide_Angl... It doesn't zoom as much as the one you are considering, but has an aperture of 2.8-4.0, which for $114.95 is a pretty good deal.

  2. The Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro for the F-mount is not compatible with the D60. When buying Sigmas for the D60 it has to have the HSM designation (hyper sonic motor). When buying Nikon lenses look for AF-S or AF-I lenses. These lenses will be fully compatible with your D60.

I'd suggest either the AF-S Nikkor VR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED or the non-VR version. The lens is pretty slow so you'd want to pay extra to have VR on it.

  3. Try this one - Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
